Re: RPG Character planning topic
I was originally going to have a trio of baddies in the BZPRPG, but they ended up being good guys. Ignatur, Kaliz, and Zire/Plague.
Then I had Jokar, and... Sedra and Kpik, (Xa-Kuta guise) and... I think that was all.
I only had one Day Run character, Kayzata, (lolheagod)
I had two CoC chars, Fulok and... I forget right now.
And I had Klax and Oura in IoP.
Right now, I think that's enough, I don't need any more atm.

Re: RPG Character planning topic
I kinda just thought of this idea but what if there was a character who was really good with any type of sword-ish weapon that had a blade- Straight Sword, Short Sword, Broadsword, Dagger, Spear, Scythe, anything like that. Then he would be called the Ace of Blades. I dunno, just a random idea.

Re: RPG Character planning topic
Sounds interesting... What weapons would he normally be using?
Also, ftr, a spear is not a swordish weapon.
Also, what species, personality etc would he be?
*is curious*

Re: RPG Character planning topic
He would carry a bunch of swords and daggers around, maybe he would have a broadsword on his hip, three thin swords on his back, a couple daggers strapped like ammo, stuff like that. Not a spear, sorry. Geez.
As for his personality, I could make him just want to fight everybody. Or he could just be set on ruling the world. Maybe he could become so skilled that people would follow him out of fear and he would amass an army and then take over everything. Species? Toa, probably. Or maybe a custom species that instead of having elemental powers would have natural energy that comes from inside them. The stronger the person, the more natural energy. It might even become so strong it would create an effect of enhanced gravity in the area around the person.
Keep in mind I'm just rattling off ideas here, to see what you think of them. This isn't anything like "my best idea that i've been working on for so long".

Also maybe his last name might be changed to Highwind.
And he and Jolek might be brothers.
Funny, "Jolek Highwind" rolls much better off the tongue than "Cipher Highwind".

Yeah, I'd already planned for them to know eachother, as they came from the same ship.
"Mobius" was just a filler name, then. He was hit a little harder than Jolek with the amnesia.
EDIT: One thing there, CM. He's a Halberd-user.
Although, that idea does put "Stormlance" into my head.
Me likey.

Jasik. For Prisonbreak.
I was thinking I would move less away from the old man mega-powerful Toa of Fire Jasik I used in NBZP, but more of the cocky half-Shadow leeched police officer that I used in Gangs of Metru Nui.
Need some new weapons ideas, though.

Re: RPG Character planning topic
Mercenary characters... hm... name...
Shrak... nah... too close to Skar. Hm... Shorn... yes, his name is Shorn.
Alright, I know what he looks like, Skakdi, tall, grey armor covered by a metallic robe with a hood, with runes and symbols covering the robe. His Spine was surgically removed, and his claws were sharpened. His right hand is mechanical. His face is scarred and shredded, but he can still see and speak just fine.
Now for personality. He is silent, and hides his skarred face behind the hood of his robe. When he speaks, it is only to another member of his team, and even then, it isn't much, unless someone's being a real moron, and doesn't get something, then, and only then, he will say more then a few sentences.

That's so typical of a bounty hunter char, Skah.
I was thinking maybe some kind of ball and chain/sword combo for Jasik.
Kanohi's a slight issue. I don't want to use Calix, since that's a prime choice for RPers...maybe a Komau?

Re: RPG Character planning topic
Hm
Can you explain what a Komau is?
Alright, new character.
Name... Yghari. (yar-ee)
Now, appearance... Toa of sonics, gray and gold in color, well built Toa with the same robe Shorn had, except in pure blinding white. His weapon of choice is a staff, with a rather decorative double bladed axe on the end. And paired with this staff is a shotgun, which he uses only in close combat, when his staff won't work.
Personality. Talkative, but not to any point of annoyance, he knows when to speak and when not to. He trusts the others in the group enough to work with them, but he wouldn't call any of them allies, just fellow bounty hunters.

Re: RPG Character planning topic
Just a profile I came up with, I would appreciate if it was picked apart:
Name: Kolem
Gender: Male
Species:Toa of Air
Appearance: Lean and powerful, Kolem wears lime green and black armor, including a black flowing cape and a lime green Mask of Psychometry. His cape is fastened with a lime green shoulder pad with a black rune-like pattern embedded in it. His boots and gloves are similar, except black with the same pattern in lime green. His vividly purple hair barely sticks out of his mask underneath it on the left side as well.
Bio: He was part of a secluded tribe of Le-Matoran and Toa when his village was destroyed by pirates looking to loot and plunder their vast store of rare and valuable instruments. The novice Toa of the time tried valiantly to protect Kolem's old village, but failed and was killed. Kolem was young, and had to watch as almost all of his tribe was killed before his eyes. He found refuge in one of the pirate's ships, where he hid until they had gone far into the woods, carried away with their own greed and sick happiness. Climbing out, he ran as fast and far as he could until he collapsed, exhausted, under a tree where he stumbled across a toa stone. It activated, and he was transformed into a Toa. He now lends his services as a mercenary/bounty hunter, although his ultimate goal is to find the pirates that originally ransacked his village.
Weapons: A chain whip, except at the end of the chain is a wickedly sharp piece of steel shaped like a crescent moon. He is incredibly adept at using this, and loves to use his power over air to fly up into the sky and swing it downward at his foes.
Powers: Control over the element air.
Mask: Mask of Psychometry.

You mean the Toa, of Sonics.
Shorn is a cached char, I'll take him out if things get too boring.
There isn't much more to do to Yghari than write up his profile... meh, I'm not looking forward to his Bio. >_<
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, power is suckage now. I'll change it to...
Name: Yghari
Gender: Male
Species: Toa of Plasma
Kanohi: Kakama
Appearance: Gray body with Golden armor and mask, he wears a robe (not the bedtime kind) that is pure blinding white and if covered in black runes and symbols. He appears to have no defects to his body other than a bright red scar along his back, which is always covered by his robe.
Powers: Plasma and all abilities associated with it.
Abilities: Anything related to Plasma.
Equipment: A gray-white double bladed sword the length of him, along with a shotgun as black as night.(hinthint)
Personality: Is generally talkative, but not to any points of annoyance, he will talk when necessary, and them some. He is usually kind, which does not fit with his job as a bounty hunter. He firmly believes in Mata Nui, and once again, that does not fit his profile at all.
Bio: Yghari started life as a simple Matoran of Plasma, he worked at his job alongside other Matoran, he lived his life as any normal Matoran would... on Zakaz. While the civil war progressed, Yghari and the others of his kind on the island were forced into slave labor under evil tyrants, and crazy maniacs. Yghari vowed, if he ever got off the island alive, he would become a Toa, and slave the race of the Skakdi, he had seen their true side.
Well, one day, his master came to him, a Skakdi of fire, tall and powerful, this particular Skakdi had chosen to be kind to him slaves, to not treat the as the dirt he walked upon, and Yghari believed that it was possible for Skakdi to be kind. This Skakdi told him of an escape from the island, a motorized boat that could take him to another island. His Master gave him the keys to this boat, and told him to take as many Matoran as he could, and flee, flee and never return.
And Yghari did so, he left that island, but he would have to come back.
As years passed on, Yghari and five others were chosen to become Toa by Mata Nui, but he did not become a Toa to save other Matoran, or to protect an island from evil beings of mass destruction. He became a Toa to kill the entire race of Skakdi.
Of course, once he left the team to kill every Skakdi he saw, the others despised him for his decision, and they said they would kill him if he took the lives of innocent people who did nothing to him but Be. He ignored them, and continued on his quest to rid the world of the parasite that the Skakdi were.
As more years passed on, he killed more and more, believing that this was his purpose, and that Mata Nui had made him a Toa for this reason alone. He had made himself a reputation in the world of evil, as well as good, in some cases, sometimes he played the villain, sometimes he played the hero, but to him, he was doing his job.
The Brotherhood of Makuta became interested with him, they were wondering why he was killing so many Skakdi and getting away with it. He was contacted by a Brotherhood member, and was told to come to a specific island, so they could meet and discuss life and opportunity.
He did so, and they Makuta and Toa spoke about Yghari's ability to be basically a ghost, a very angry ghost who was on a killing spree. The makuta told him something, he told Yghari that he could kill all the Skakdi he wanted, and get paid for it at the same time. Yghari liked to slay the Skakdi, and he liked to earn pay, so he agreed, he was then placed on a Bounty Hunter team, and was given the task of exterminating all the Skakdi from a prison called Hagah, which had become a warzone.
Yghari agreed, and went with five others to this island prison, where he is right now.
Okay, there's his profile. Bio sucks IMO. :/

Re: RPG Character planning topic
I present...Jasik. He's slightly altered from his Gangs of Metru Nui form, and totally different from NBZP-Jasik, but whatever.
Name: Jasik
Gender: Male
Species: Toa of Fire/Shadow
Kanohi: Kadin
Powers: Fire, including the sub-power Heat.
Abilities: Anything related to Fire.
Equipment: Longsword, two pistols with custom-laser scopes attached.
Personality: Cocky, sarcastic, and darkly moody. He's oversure of his abilities, which, while great, are not as cracked up as he likes to think they are.
Bio: Jasik was a punk street fighter from Metru Nui. He spent his nights getting drunk and into fights, then spent his mornings licking his wounds. This cycle kept on going for a couple hundred years until about a year before the fall of the city, when he fought off a Dark Hunter who took him for a Toa Mangai and went to take him out of commission. The Dark Hunters immediately recruited him as an enforcer, and he skyrocketed up the ranks of the Hunters until a falling out with the Shadowed One himself. He joined the Brotherhood of Makuta, who at the time were anxious for information on their bounty hunter enemies. After a bad experiment with a Shadow Leech that sucked away part of his natural light and gave him the Elemental Power of Shadow, Jasik's first assignment was to do recon with a small crew of Brotherhood-recruited bounty hunters who were being sent to a Dark Hunter prison island. Cocky as he is, he never bothered to assume that it could also be his last...

Re: RPG Character planning topic
Weeeeeeeelll
Maybe, if someone convinced him that the people they were dealing with were evil scum who killed lots of people, he would kill them.
EDIT: The profile looks okay, nothing really out of place. Um, why wasn't he killed off by the Dark hunters when he left them for the Brotherhood? O_o

Re: RPG Character planning topic
The Brotherhood would be one to protect its assets, especially those with prime information on the Shadowed One's tactics and clients.
He's missing a personality section.
Also, the chain whip sounds so sick, especially with a downward strike like what you described.
My one real problem, besides the missing personality, is the fact that his bio seems kind of...inconsistent. No one noticed him get on/off the ship?

Dang, I knew I forgot something. >_<
Thx about the chain whip, I thought it was really cool when I invented it. <3
And yes, no one noticed him get on and off the ship because all the pirates were out at the village raiding it.

Okay, dude, I know I came late, as this profile is already in action, but I'd like to point something out.
Testing with the kusarigama has shown that although swinging its own sickle or a similarly shaped blade (like a crescent) to cut and stab people from far away looks cool, in reality its blade is far more liable to bounce off targets (which is compounded in the Bionicle Universe with their thicker armor) than hurt them for more than a scratch or light cut. Controlling such a thing to cut and stab over such a distance is so tricky that long-range stabbing is pretty much impossible and slicing someone open is difficult as well. Unlike a crossbow, bow, pistol, rifle, or other weapons that aim to deal similar amounts of damage at mid-ranges at least, it does take something on the end of a whip a fair bit of time to get where it's going, leaving someone valuable time to dodge it. So while this invention of yours looks cool, IRL the only real thing you'd be using it for is chaining something and finishing someone off with the blade, something that the kusarigama is better at itself. In short, don't go using the crescent and chain in the BZPRPG anytime soon =P
Again, though, don't be completely discouraged. Chain weapons are a favorite of mine, and I've dredged up some other unheard of ones here for you to take inspiration from and/or use.
- The meteor hammer-Which actually isn't a hammer. Two melon-sized metal spheres attached on either end to a length of chain, though some variations only have one sphere and a longer rope. Gets its name from the speed and intensity of its strike; but can also look like a meteor if turned into a fire meteor hammer (see article). A personal favorite
- The rope dart-While lacking the sheer power of the meteor hammer and versatility of the kusarigama, it has other advantages. Lightning fast and difficult to spot if used as a surprise weapon; however, can also be drawn back and retrieved, and one can use the standard chain and rope techniques of entangling as well, if not as well as with a kusarigama
- The chain whip-Basically a whip made out of segments similar in size and construction to the nunchaku, but much longer and tipped with a dart for slashing and piercing. Highly versatile and powerful, but even more difficult than a traditional whip to control.
- The flying claw-basically a pincer on a tether that closes and opens as one pulls and releases it.
You could also go the unconventional way and put a meat hook on the end of a chain, like what Hau (the NBZP char) did; the hook acts as a weight, finishing weapon, and can catch on armor and weapons easily, making it good for entangling as well as disarming.
