Oops, sorry, enough quoting The Witcher 2 for today.
I believe in a free future when all of us can write "bastard" and not have their writings submit to someone else's idea of what's right and what's wrong. Especially if it refers to a combination of sounds emitted by humans in order to lie to each other more effectively.

Why does it matter to you anyway?
To me it matters, because I need that word to use in my writings. "Fool" or "dolt" don't get the point across, and nobody really uses them anyway unless in jest. "Bastard" does.

I'm already uncomfortable with being on a site where minor bad words are allowed. To be honest, I'm beginning to wonder if I should leave. =/
If you need the word to use in your writings, why not have a poll to make a rule that states, in writing, the filter is more lenient? Thus you can use words like that in writing and I don't have to worry about people using that word when they comment in my blog. I hear enough bad-name-calling (mainly from schoolkids) in real life.

Personally, I don't like the word, and Dovy always manages to yell it at someone sooner or later in the chatbox. <_<
